Mike:

I would have bought the Aug calls the first time around, but the only listed options at the time were July then October expirations. I guess if I'd put a bid out for some August strike price options some MM would have written them.

I unfortunately bought the July's when COMS was in the mid 40's in early May, subsequent market events put them in the red for a while but they're well in the black right now. I rolled them into the August expirations because I want to be able to take advantage of the run up in COMS that I expect to happen after 7/27 when the public wakes up to the fact that COMS is on sale in the teens, plus any simultaneous run up in PALM once its arbitrage tether is finally cut.

Stay loose and go with the flow is the motto now. That was my game plan during the IPO run up when I intended to ride the thing right up to 3/2 and cash out of all option positions and 50% of my stock positions prior to PALM beginning to trade. Unfortunately, greed got the better of me and I only cashed out of 50% of the options, bailed the rest as fast as I could but still only made 30% of their peak value. Time will tell if my decisions are better this time around. I'm convinced that 7/27 will only mark part of the run up in COMS + PALM, but that's JMO.

Good luck.
