Just about everything is a buy signal. Speaking of buying, how about those Orlando magic? HO HO HO McGrady is mouthing off to no end. Says it will be them, the Lakers and everyone else can go choke a chicken..

Orlando will NEVER win an NBA title...-nfg-

Terry,

The situation with SI would make an excellent case study.

The last time I can recall users being so mad was the release of a new version of Word. The saying back then was

Word 3, Users 0

The SI team is technically hopeless and their colleagues in public-relations are, well, hopeless as well.

I am a developer and understand that all things that grow do so with some pain, but this is beyond the pale. Do people realize that SI is such a simple application?

I mean, my God, it's 7-bit ASCII, no graphics, no user customization to speak of -- get it, tag it, stuff it in a database. On the output side we need only throw together some HTML interspersed with database retrieval(s).

Undergraduates at any respected computer science faculty could put this together, sans the server farm woes, in about a week.

There is but one conclusion: They do not care about their customers.

The other conclusion could be that good labour is hard to come by. More on that at 8:30 -g-.
