The infamous Michel Marriott had a brief piece on the Sony PDA sporting the Palm OS...

...today in the NY Times "Circuits" section.

Again, Sony appears determined to promote the Memory Stick standard on yet another platform. The biggest problems are, of course, established competition from the Pocket PC and Palm followers & the lack of cross-platform compatibility. Recall that many CFA (CompactFlash Association) partners (Socket, Symbol, Xircom,...) have created value-added products for the CF slot such as LAN cards, bar code readers, 56K modems, GPS cards... The Memory Stick doesn't have this kind of support unless there is a CompactFlash adapter that fits into the Memory Stick slot.

Now wouldn't that be a great innovation???

This is yet another Sony blunder. This is even worse than the "Memory Stick Walkman" that works only with OEM versions of Windows 98, uses the ANTHRAX3 codec, and doesn't even take Memory Stick.
