ADVANCED MICRO DEVICES INC. launched a cash tender offer for the $400 million worth of its outstanding 11% senior secured notes, due 2003. In a statement, the semiconductor maker said that for each $1,000 principal amount of the notes, it will pay an amount based on a 50 basis point spread over the yield of the 5.5% U.S. Treasury Note, due July 31, 2001. The price will be fixed as of 2:00 p.m. EDT on the second business day immediately after the offer expires. The offer is set to expire at 5:00 p.m. EDT on August 2, it said.
