Garfunkel Read Replies (1) | Respond to of 990 Find those that will Profit and you find the Perpetrators; It has been some time since I posted here, and it is sad that I come back under the circumstances of the events of this last week. However, I would like any readers here to help me in getting this post to the attention of proper authorities. As you know I am a long ago retired Financial analyst. During this last week, as I watched the tragic events unfold, the thought occurred to me that to identify and catch those responsible for Monday's terrible tragedy, the FBI needs to in addition to following the money trail of where the money came from that supported the terrorists, they must also follow the trail of who will profit most from this attack. I mean, wouldn't the terrorists, knowing that they where going to disrupt the stock market by taking out the World Trade Center, Sell Short. Probably they would Short the obvious; Airlines, Travel, Insurance, and Banking Industry stocks, in addition to the QQQs the Dow Index, etc. Most certainly they would spread out their Short selling to markets located around the world, with probable greater concentration in U. S. markets? If this scenario is correct, Osama bin Laden , or the Taliban, or Sadam Hussein, or whoever perpetrated these dastardly acts, knowing that chaos would surely ensue, would have Shorted the market last week, or last month, but certainly within the last year, in order to finance their next terrorist attacks. Therefore, by investigating those who have heavily increased Short Selling recently, would be the ones who are the perpetrators of the attack. As a further benefit of exposing such a plot; it would also debunk the idea of "martyrdom" which was, and probably continues to be, used to motivate these suicidal religious fanatics? I don't know where to take my suspicions. Perhaps the FBI or SEC are looking into such a potential scenario, as I write. However, I feel responsible to bring these ideas forward and ask for your assistance in getting exposure for these ideas to the proper authorities. Best regards to all, Jules B. Garfunkel
