Molloy,
Sorry, I was talking about AWE as TDMA (meant to contrast with CD-you.know.what which dominates this thread). I understand AWE has had a CDPD service for sometime, but I think the latest offerings are something different. For one thing, they have a phone.com microbrowser with built-in services. I just ordered a book on it from barnes & noble--How To Save Your Portfolio If You Were Mesmerized By Gulder and All That Gorilla Crap. The email was also easy to set up and works. It appears there are about 40 sites built into the browser. Apparently the service launched about a month ago, and reps received special training. I don't know how AWE made the service available over the last few years, but it was nothing like it is now. It is much better than Sprint's circuit-switched package. For one thing, surfing is "free" as opposed to costing 39 cents a minute (or else taking minutes off your data/voice plan). That means you might actually have the patience to browse through some of the sites for information or to buy something. Predictive input is also nice. ERICY's got a nice package for just $99 (heavily subsidized, I imagine).

w molloy: No CDPD is built into TDMA (before called D-AMPS, as in Digital-AMPS). Please check this Ericsson press release:
