With CDMA, it seems relegated to a bit-player in the overall wireless market (15% CDMA vs 85% GSM), and destined to be the better but unused standard. It seems as well that with NOKIA refusing to play ball, and leading the "anti-qualcomm" cavalry, that the odds favor them, vs a possibly dominant IPR company like qcom, which needs their cooperation. The 3G convergence, unless I am misreading the incredible amount of bad news lately, seems to be further and further away for QCOM, with Cell vendors not playing ball and avoiding at all costs working with, and leveraging QCOM. I was an optimist on QCOM, but even the most diehard bull must admit that the list of managemement/company/ announcement missteps this year has been unbelievable... QCOM Investor & analyst relations must be at the lowest level imaginable. I do not think that I have ever seen a stock so universally detested WITHOUT announcing LOWER than anticipated results (i.e. a downside surprise like CA & BMC) Christ people, we are down 50% in 1 month, without lower results, and down from 150 in what, April ? Even with OS/2 & Netware & Unix vs windows in the late 80's , early 90's, it was NEVER this bad. I think we made a BIG mistake in crowning QCOM a Gorilla, and should take it back, based on recent and evolving developments.. Only the LindyBills of this thread have made money, when they sold their holdings to the johnny-come-lately suckers at the high of... $ 200 !! in January. I have never regretted being a Buy&Hold invstor more than with this stock, and kick myself at least once a day for not having at least sold HALF. I bought at 40$, 80$ and 70$ last year, and I feel like a total goofball. Anyone wants to comment... ?? Take care Jean
