Haven't seen this negative QCOM-related item anywhere else yet, maybe I've just missed it...
==================
New York, Jul 07, 2000 (123Jump via COMTEX) -- Some bad news today for Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM). Korea's leading mobile phone service operators said they'll use a system allowing high-speed Internet access developed by Nokia (NYSE:NOK), Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY) and NTT DoCoMo, turning their backs on a Qualcomm version. SK Telecom (NYSE:SKM), Korea Telecom (NYSE:KTC) and LG Telecom are seen by most analysts as the most likely to win three licenses to start offering the services next year. The decision is a blow to Qualcomm because all 26 million of Korea's mobile users are now hooked up via cellular phones using Qualcomm technology.
