QCOM is "out" .....
While talk that Qualcomm's technology won't be used in next-generation wireless services in Korea was behind Friday's early sell-off, that speculation isn't new, said Chase H&Q analyst Ed Snyder. "It was in the Korean Herald last Friday. The press has been saying for months that it was going to happen."

The move away from Qualcomm's CDMA technology to the more widely used European standard "falls right in line with what we've been saying," said Snyder. "(About) 70% of the world is going to be upgraded using the European version, which leaves anybody on CDMA isolated. That's not been lost on carriers. There's natural pressure to go with the European standard."
