NMSS is an earnings play but for me, the more it corrects weeks before earnings the better play it will be be just 1 week or less before earnings. I don't take positions in stocks that are 'high profile' and downtrending when they are weeks before earnings. This week and last week were the "pre-warnings" dead zone where good stocks could have died and I was worried NMSS might be among them. Next week will be the "good week" pre-earnings where only the strong survived. In this case strong means FUNDAMENTALLY strong. Technical strength has lesser weight during an earnings season. We use technical triggers to enter the stock, and the higher relative strength ranking just indicates 'yellow light' and the stock might sell off on the report.

Stocks that are strong are "set ups" for a short play on the report. NMSS needed this corrections as it was overbought. It is setting itself up for a nice swing trade and more likely will trigger a buy signal in the upcoming sessions.
