Perception becomes reality on wCDMA

. . . . until Qualcomm defends its IPR in court.

The problem with wCDMA is that there is nothing substantial there for Qualcomm to attack. So far, wCDMA is all "smoke and mirrors."

Message 14007545

Finnish telecom equipment maker Nokia cautiously welcomed reports on Friday that Korean operators would opt for third-generation mobile network systems using its and Ericsson`s W-CDMA standard. Bloomberg news agency said in a report Korean SK telecom would use the W-CDMA standard rejecting the rival 3G network system of U.S. Qualcomm. "This is very positive sounding, but there have not been any official announcements yet." a Nokia spokeswoman told Reuters.

------------------------------------------------------------

Nokia and Korea are playing "high stakes poker games." All talk at this point about CDMA2000 and wCDMA is probably, at this point, no more than posturing.

FUD of QCOM's wCDMA being "competing technology"...

that is the focal point of the disinformation going on
you CANNOT fight such damage
I cannot see QCOM getting the market straightened out for several more weeks
in the meantime, sure QCOM might bottom out

the "on again" "off again" nature of the news behind this stock are simply mind boggling
not worth fighting for now
will revisit in midAugust

the spin from HDR release and shipments might change the FUD
but will customers truly be lined up???
