John,

I personally found the SSB reported slowdown in mainframe software sales to be very disconcerting. The connection to PC microprocessor sales is obvious.

John, It shows the power of fast communications that such a report can do what it did. Of course everyone was ready with their finger on the sell button or this would not have happened.
I wonder how much is just "it has to come to an end someday" type of anticipatory reporting.
The possibility exists that with the right feedback loops on interest rates, M1, M2 money creators etc they may have finally achieved the ability to achieve level flight?
In the past they were always too kate with the rate hikes and they then cranked them tight and we had a dip and then they loosened them and we had a surge.
The economy has a lot of factors to quantify but they may have achieved the ability to eliminate the crashes with sustained growth the result?
Like watching a man on a tight rope those that predict a fall are only vindicated by a sad event.

Bill

John,

I agree with Cramer to a large extent. There is some merit to the call. Whether one agrees with the conclusions or not is a different story. This was a gutsy call.

Whether the peak is today or six months out is not the issue. The issue is valuations are insane. The key thing is that there are ton of companies out there with PEGs greater than 1 in what is arguably near the top of the cycle. That is nuts. I think the guy blew it on individual names but was right to bring up the issue to the forefront.

People looking for conspiracy in this move should be looking elsewhere.
