Go easy on BryanB. It's going to be difficult to go from his current position to flipping burgers at McDonald's.

Why not??

We didn't issue a statement, because we didn't have complete information.

Were you just "doing" stuff, Bryan, hoping it might work? That's sometimes my own approach to computer problems, but then I'm not a techie.

At least I DO know that when things get really bad, it's a good idea to pull the plug.

ALL of the other "bells & whistles" that you continue to attempt to jam down our throats are available elsewhere on the net, some free, some not. Great if you want to offer them BUT NEVER at the expense of cutting our ability to communicate with one another in the manner that we all joined SI to do.

Couldn't agree with you more. And yes, I'm sick and tired of sites that solicit opinions from members only to ignore them completely.

A good case in point is RB's new Member Rating System. It's absolutely idiotic. You can move somebody up from a one to a three simply by bookmarking him. Kinda like handing out gold stars in kindergarten. RB started a thread asking members what they thought. About 90% said they hated it.

RB only responded to the 10% who were in favor, or who suggested "constructive changes". PowerRate is obviously there to stay, like it or not.

And Bryan, if you're out there: don't even THINK of trying something like that at SI. We're perfectly capable of reading people's posts and making our own evaluations.
