Yesterday my property valuation from the Orange County Assessor came in the mail. They say the assessed value of my house rose 6.727% from last year. They must not read the BLS stats.

We've got a house on the water in Perdido Keys Fl. 4 years ago I got a real estate friend to give me a marketable price. At the time it was $167,000. I just had it appraised and its now $300,000. There's inflation somewhere, its just the management of those numbers that has kept it tame.
