Re: SSB call (from Clearstation)

'kensey' said:
horrible day for chip stocks. so reducing exposure.

the reason for chip weakness is pervasive SSB downgrades throughout
the sector. at least that was the reason this morning. feeling
here was that participants would step up to the plate in the
afternoon session. but that is not happening as the selling
refuses to abate and buyers are absent. and the naz is down
over 100 points.

retaining Micron (MU) and in fact bought some just a bit ago.
MU is viewed as a special case due to the supply/demand imbalance
for SDRAM.

retaining TQNT. down 10 seems a bit of a bath water toss.

retaining RMBS. of course.

but losing MXIM, ISSI, ALSC, ALTR, AMD, XLNX. why so
many corrolated plays were on the list in the first place is
anybody's guess. these stocks will be placed on the watchlist
for monitoring purposes. but standing aside for now. i believe
it was friday i saw Paul Wick on CNBC recommending selling BRCM,
BRCD and JNPR in favor of buying IDTI and the like. i wonder if
he is snapping up IDTI here now down 10? Lack of consensus by
the analysts and investment professionals on chips getting rather
old. Perhaps SSB wants to load up on the sector at cheaper prices before earnings season? nahhhhh. that couldn't be it.
