Market always right. Korea news perceived as good for IDCC. Up 5, 31%. I think market totally wrong here.

Well, well, well. We are all getting quite a reality check today. Long overdue, IMO.

The problem with QCOM stock price for a long time has been the unrealistic expectations, and in some cases rather abject ignorance, of many of its holders.

Both many holders and detractors viewed 3G as black and white issues. There are many shades of gray.

A few months ago I unloaded 50% of my long position - not for fundamental reasons but because it looked likely the stock would take a bunch more hits, from a combination of delusions of grandeur becoming adjusted to reality, as well as continued bare-knuckles competitive attacks.

Although I can say honestly that "I share the pain" (having held onto the other 50%) I am heartened to see the depressed wailing on this and other QCOM threads. Some gnashing of teeth over here is long overdue. Too bad it takes painful stock price declines for many to see the other shades of gray.

Bought a ton of QCOM 60 LEAPs today - hope to write top leg of spread sometime this month. QCOM + NOK + ERICY = keys to the wireless kingdom and a good portfolio, IMO.

Good luck to all. Mid-50's is a helluva price long-term for the Q, even in a future world that is 90% W-CDMA.
