I think you're right ....we will probably continue up on monday till noon or one Pm or so ET, then drift down the rest of the week. A lot of companies will be reporting earnings, and we may continue to get some good suprises along with some real shockers. But in general they should be good. It's the next period we need to be concerned about. So I quess we enjoy the news and sell into it. Is that kind of your fundamental projection?

How can volatility be over-sold?

Do you mean that options sellers have over-sold volatility?

Or do you mean that over-bought/over-sold oscillators, applied to the VIX, show "over-sold", which really means "over-bought".

Guess I should look at the chart, and solve the mystery.

But it's such a fun Alice-in-Wonderland enigma... I think I will leave it unsolved for a bit.

Note the 10 period line crossing the 20 period line on the 2 day chart...

The Dow looks like it wants to resolve this declining tops pattern to the upside...
