If the DOW can stay above 10600 on a closing basis, for a couple of days, it would produce a buy signal. NDX-100 is on a buy, head-butting on resistances all the time. I think it needs the earnings story to become clearer for a powerful move up or down. Should happen within 2 weeks, IMHO.

Thanks Dennis,

Re: "There is no leadership in the Naz. Look at CSco, Sunw and Amat. Amat did better
yesterday than today. No conviction."

Maybe a broad rally and consolidation phase is needed before going higher, personally I don't trust these shooting star type up days. Anyway, we will know next week, meantime I am off for some R & R . Have a good week end.

Ray

dmp....I saw your note wrt IBD and WON's belief we are in a new bull phase. Base upon his price and volume signals, that is true. The thing that I find troubling (aside from the collection of distribution days we've seen lately, and the sentiment) is, as you say, the leadership behavior. I don't see any leadership for this move from the May lows. And the usual suspects (CSCO, SUNW, ORCL, etc.) are not behaving well.

Disturbing, at best. Hit an run, as you say.

BTW, found a little collection of Thomas Coyne Vineyards reds. Tasting a '98 Syrah which is superb. Getting a few others in the next day or two. See if you can find them. Availability is limited, but worth a look. This Syrah rivals any Cote Roti I found recently in Paris and near your beloved Aix.
