It's not just attorneys, either: Imagaine being a schoolteacher or a nurse starting your work career in, say, Mountain View or Palo Alto now. Probably 70-80% of your disposable income would have to go to housing (and at a truly inferior quality level, sorry Hedonic pricing fans!) Of course you're going to demand much, much more in the next contract negotiations. Otherwise move away. The equity and real estate bubbles are unmasking enormous dislocations as we move further into them, and it will only get worse I fear....
