redwards ---MSM5200 chip ----Do you have any thoughts on what W-CDMA standard they based the chip on ? I assume it is for dual roaming capability for GSM and CDMA ? Has it been demonstrated anywhere ? What data rate is available and when will it be to market ? A lot of questions but your input and knowledge is appreciated

BEST WISHES
BILL
PS ---Is this possibly what the Koreans are really negotiating on by saying they are going with W-CDMA from the European consotium ?

r. edwards--that MSM 5200 article- from 10/15/99.
Only Qualcomm seems fully capable in this technology. Even the technical FUD doesn't venture out as far as Q's old factual announcements. If this went to court (while CDMA2000 rolled out) and if Q lost, "W"CDMA would simply never happen. If, in order to get 3G out early and in force DS is necessary, Q will have to finish it and supply the asics. (Just an opinion)
