gottfried, i know exactly what you mean by knowing that help is right here on this thread. we've got a pretty good group of diverse talents. thanks for the av def heads up. just installed them too. i see they were avenge 1.5 microdefs, whatever the heck that means. <g3> we'll soon see about the integrity of this latest update. i have never had more than a momentary passing thought, let alone a big concern, about the validity of a symantec update. my bet is, the consistency in performance will continue. :) mark
