Re: Here, unlike the Dell case, RMBS pulled out of the JEDEC meetings because, apparently, JEDEC was requiring that they disclose and/or waive their patent claims. There does not appear to have been any instance in which a RMBS rep certified that no RMBS rights were implicated, nor does it appear that RMBS ever voted in favor of the standard.

Hadn't they participated in JEDEC for about two years by that point? And didn't they then, with knowledge acquired during their participation, amend their patents?

Rambus may be able to a case going for many years, but it's doubtful they'll ever win any final court settlements.

And at this point it's really all that's left of Rambus. They have to be the most detested company in the industry at this point. Even Intel appears to be doing its best to remove any trace of actual Rambus technology from their products (as opposed to the stuff they stole from JEDEC). Look at the real chipset for Willamette (not the one that will be used for the "hundreds of thousands" that are expected to ship this year, but Tulloch, the chipset that will ship in the millions). Like all Intel products, it's currently undergoing a "rambusectomy".
