"Lesser" companies sometimes have the $$$ to swing the deal, I think John Prezenger posted Nokia has the clout to do the job.

IMHO, it can continue in that direction only with Jerry Sanders. Any company wishing to buy AMD with the intention of becoming a viable leader in X86 CPU business against Intel without Jerry will be like fooling themselves.


Perhaps Nokia sells off the CPU business and Dresden? Niceguy has posted on the other thread his belief that the parts are worth more than the whole at this time.

Who would buy the X86 end of AMD? You make a good point, who would want to go up against Intel other than gutsy Jerry Sanders?
