Cha2, I agree with your view of the financial "press". Their job now is to "produce an audience", rather than report the news. One of the talking heads on CNBC said the following last week: "Our job is to produce an audience, not to produce a show."

The National Enquirer has set the standard.

<<We are so jaded now with anything goes that even the idea of the need for checking stories to ensure the facts are accurate has long since lost.

It is not that I am surprised, but I find that having to "work around" press reporting a pain.

From these two very true statements it appears that opportunity, like Joseph’s coat, comes in many colors.

And on the topic of opportunity, Richard Williams just realized his vision of a daughter victorious at Centre <sp> Court, Wimbeldon.

Submitted for your consideration.

Read your post with interest.
Doesn't this sort of conduct go back just about as far as one can either research or remember. There are examples after examples where the "professionals" endorsed a trend and then only after the market blows up do they condemn the excesses. Or remember the endorsement the the big Hedge fund got from the professional establishment mainly because it was run by a bunch of experts who managed to almost crater the financial system.

It is a pain to work around press reporting but I'm afraid it's a fact of our lives.
