You don't. But if it was "made up" in 1927 and is still used today, 73 years later, perhaps that is an indication that it is gaining credibility, if not acceptance?

Speech is dynamic, but literate speech is inherently conservative, for good reason. Remember, most nations were highly divided along lines of dialect until fairly recently. The "literary dialect" provided the basis for common speech. To ensure that there was a common referent, the literary language had to be kept fairly pure, and not easily accept innovation. English has changed remarkably little since Elizabethan times, for example, when the London dialect ruled triumphant. Teaching the "King's English" was an important element in giving common people access to literature, and ensuring their full participation in society, rather than confining them to a linguistic ghetto........
