RE: DellNet and MSN - I think you are right - not much reason to go into that business if you can get the same benefit through a partnership deal. I suspect that there was a senior management discussion on whether DELL should depart from their traditional model. In R&D - convergenet being an example - in manufacturing and consumer positioning - WebPC - in DellNet - and a couple of other less visible examples. Based on current actions I would say that they have decided to go back to what works.
