Elizabeth, a HUGE part of the marginal investment in stocks comes from IRAs and 401Ks that could not care less about taxes. These cash flows arrive on or before January, without regard to whatever you or I might think wise.

It is reasonable to expect strong Nov/Dec/Jan cash flows into the market regardless of their up/down/middling status at the time.
