Jacob, pmfji, but if you're looking for leverage, you can avoid the risks of margin calls through buying LEAPS contracts. As example, QCOM 2003 100 strike price LEAPS calls are trading for under $20/sh., and provide more leverage than full margin without the attendant risks.

Hello Jacob,

Just trying to make the point that with techs, cynical/cyclical/gorilla/whatever <gggg>, if you extend yourself with too much margin and even credit cards (what!!!!), you stand a good chance of being taken out at the exact worst time. On another note, I see we again meet on a 'broken quality tech' thread. Do great minds think alike??? <gggg>.

PS - I have not touched the 'formerly mighty Q' yet, but as with Worldcom, I'm getting interested...
