Aus, I spend most of my time at 56K -- on principle -- because it it free and good enough for the task at hand. No one short of Big Bill or the CEO of Spint is rich (or follish) enough to surge at "fat" speeds. A few years back I actually had Sprint as a client and they had a hard time doing better than 64K with their remote I/O.

I spent most of my original DSL time sending messages telling Sprint that "their pipes were full" because I couldn't get to my favorite sites fast enough (i.e. >56KB speed)

You can spend a whole lot of money on T3 lines but your access will slow to whatever you choose to connect to. Or worse. Braggarts can say whatever they might. But facts are facts.

Craig

I feel totally inadequate with my measly 56K modem.
Now the whole world knows.

This will speed you through the list of posts:
naviscope.com

A very nice, very configurable pre-fetching program. Also resets your clock via the net to an atomic clock every time you start the program (unless you disable that feature).

Most people use the program bug-free. I find that it interferes with my posting and have to "disable" it when I post. But I really like the instantaneous way it takes you to the next post on a thread.

I recommend disabling the toolbar as it's just a nuisance.
