Great post. However, I'm a concerned LTB&H investor who is worried about the IPR issue but in a different context than the one you present.

The vast majority of the world's networks are GSM based. The Q has absolutely no GSM IPRs. If the transition to 3G is through WCDMA in a GSM network, how will the Q sell WCDMA ASICs if it doesn't have the rights for GSM air interface? Obviously, a deal is necessary in which the owners of essential GSM IPRs cross-license with the Q for its WCDMA rights.

Won't the Q's royalty income, at least as far as WCDMA is concerned, be substantially reduced under those circumstances?
