Scott,

If the past always repeated itself exactly, then all the money would be in the hands of the TA practitioners. None of them can hold a candle to the likes of Buffett or Soros, so I guess there's still some hope for the fundamentalists! ;^)

Current upleg has several things going for it.

1. Capacity buys: Should sustain the rally at least through 2001, if not into 2003.

2. Shrinks.

3. Technology buys such as Cu.

4. 300mm: First the R&D, then the production rollout, then the yield improvement.

5. Continued Global recovery and economic expansion. i.e. the reverse of the Asian Contagion.

Of course, all those who are much smarter than I could ever hope to be, will make infinite gains by perfectly timing every interim peak and dip. Alas, I have to content myself with merely trashing the market returns by just buying good companies then holding them.

FWIW,
Ian

Scott, re >orders will be increasing for another 1.5 to 2 years.<

This should bring increasing earnings, so the only unknown is whether the institutions will go for the stocks.

<< you're (Zeev's) guess is as good as mine >>

FWIW, my observations indicate that Zeev is a master of both FA and TA, and as a result, his "GUESS" tends to be better than most.

Best wishes -- HB
