thecow, re: occasionally browser does not open after MSN dialup:

I found the fix for that problem. I just deleted all MSN connectoids and made new ones. Instructions:

>How do I Replace Damaged MSN Connections in Dial-Up Networking?
The following describes how to replace damaged MSN connections.

To replace damaged MSN connections
1. Double-click My Computer.
2. Double-click Dial-Up Networking.
3. Right-click an MSN connection, and then click Delete.
Repeat this step until all other MSN connections are deleted.
4. Close the Dial-Up Networking window.
5. Right-click the MSN icon on the desktop, and then click Connection Settings.
6. Click Phone Book.
7. Select the appropriate primary and backup access numbers for your region.
8. Click OK until you close all the dialog boxes.
9. Remove and Reinstall Dial-Up Networking.

Seems to have done the trick. I connected to MSN 3 times and the browser opened every time.

BTW, deleting and rebuilding connectoids works for other
ISPs, too, if someone has connect problems.
