Madame Cobalt has an interpretation for Madame Crocodile.

Rugs are symbolic, too, you know. Oriental rugs, especially, the flying carpet, the rolled up carpet that was used to smuggle Cleopatra in to see Caesar. Oriental rugs are a symbol of comfort, wealth, and status.

You didn't say it was an Oriental, so it might be Chinese, or European, or domestic, but all colored, figured rugs are also symbols of comfort, wealth and status. Domestic ones are also symbols of frugality, and good housekeeping.

I don't know what the image of Terry Fox means to you, but since you say it is iconic in Canada, I can imagine what it means - it means someone with a great deal of courage who struggled against great odds to be true to his own vision of himself - sort of like a certain Crocodile who has proved to be victorious in the Shit Wars. Think of your image in the middle of the rug being displayed with pride in your mother's house, and you'll see that you are proud of yourself, although I also wonder if perhaps the choice of Terry Fox means that you feel there is a certain Quixotic quality to the struggle. Quixotic not in the sense of fantasy, but Quixotic in the sense of fighting against almost impossible odds.

I think your psyche is telling you "well done!";^)
