I understand from a friend who spoke with IR that the reference in the Reuters release about fees being in the hundreds of millions, means a total of hundreds of millions for all of MSD's patent licenses for the life of the patents. This is not as high as the release made it seem, i.e., I was starting to calculate potentially growing annual royalties or fees. As it stands, unless they change to the RMBS model, the comparison to RMBS' steadily increasing royalties is not there.
