Niceguy, In the past Intel was fat and got lazy and dwelt behind a false sense of security as they could make their own release timetable. Develop products to full maturity with minimal bugs in the safety of their own labs. In this past these bug ridden horrors would have died a quiet death as their sanitised successor was developed and released on time, in budget and on spec.
Not so now. The hounds are at Intel's heels and Intel has been bitten a few times and has slipped a few times(on blood or other slippery substance) and now the fatal flaws in the Intel structure have been exposed.
Intel is not smart. Intel is not fast. Intel is big....yes, but that is all and AMD is quite capable of overhauling Intel within a few years unless Intel gets smart and fast....hard to do when you are big with laters and layers of 'crats to impede all decision and courses of action. these are all old 'crats with zero tech smarts. Just pencil pushers, or I should say bit wranglers these days.
