The message is generally getting out now

. . . . that Qualcomm will get royalties on wCDMA vaporware.

The Wall Street Journal states Qualcomm's position on this matter quite plainly in tomorrow's edition.

messages.yahoo.com

That's an improvement over Bloomberg and Dow Jones simply referring to wCDMA as "competing technology."

The word also seems to be getting out that CDMA2000 is much nearer to rollout than wCDMA. Does anyone want to bet against my position that wCDMA never rolls out? NEVER. CDMA2000 rolls out in the U.S. and it is game, set, and match.

Qualcomm's position that it receives equal royalties on wCDMA as it does with CDMA is clearly stated in the WSJ. Amazingly, sometimes "the darkest hour is just before the dawn." Last Friday's dark hour may have compelled a CDMA/wCDMA royalties discussion that will add clarity sooner rather than later. Ericssion's agreeing to this as part of last year's settlement should eventually come to the attention of morons assisting the current manipulation of the stock price.
