Oh no, I am not going to let you guys run down that fascinating piece without a challenge. Not only did she artfully hit on nearly every key issues, but she did it in an unusual thought provoking style. It's random because that's what the author is trying to convey. A sort of random poetic description of one impression after another of the Elian saga. In one of the first paragraphs she slam dunks the core issue here... They cannot see beyond that fact that the issue is no longer "where does Elian belong" the issue is "do we follow the rule of law, or do we let our frustration with the court process sanction extreme force, by executive privilege?" Then she ends it with a right on futuristic take of the mainstream media's waning power and influence in a day which now belongs to the internet. Though our moral and intellectual crisis is grave and is not easily addressed, none of these scholars took into real account the Internet' s capacity to change how information is received and disseminated. I liked it, I liked it a lot! It's certainly better than that DFW radio jock who was nothing more than a government spokesperson. :) Michael

ROFL what about people who get their information (up to the minute and unpolluted by the corrupt media) straight from the internet and who STILL don't think...like her? I sure hope I wasn't that silly at 27.
