I will be buying sdli, selling dec 360 cov. calls if the stock trades at 325.

I'm like a deer in headlights.

I did hear there was a $1billion back-out fee for JDSU (trying to confirm now). And we know there was at least one other bidder and we also know how far they pushed the price. So there are some foundations beneath the stock there weren't before.

If you're a long-term investor, and the volatility doesn't bother you, this is definitely a hold.

With this merger there is absolutely no doubt about leadership. The only competitors are the optical networking divisions of the giants --- Nortel, Lucent, Alcatel, Corning --- and the beauty is they're all customers. Will they complain to the DOJ about size of the competition? I doubt it. Primarily b/c they're desperate for products and anything that slows down the merger, slows down what they need. And even if they did complain, considering their market caps, I doubt they'd be taken seriously.

If anything, the DOJ should be delighted there's viable competition for the mega-companies.

And of course I could be wrong. I certainly don't have a lot of experice analyzing the mind of the DOJ.
