I was wondering about the flexibility of the timing. Of course some olympics destinations in general are not appropriate based on weather - and they don't do those.

I was wondering if the 2 year schedule changes allowed the olympics to be anytime during the year. When I was a kid I could swear they were always in the summer - and if the location couldn't host the games in July/Aug - they didn't win the bid.
