Poll: Beatles' "In My Life" Best Ever Song

The Beatles' 1965 ballad "In My Life" has been named the greatest song ever written, according to a new poll in the British music magazine Mojo.

The bittersweet John Lennon number, which was included on the band's album "Rubber Soul," topped the list, which was selected by well-known
songwriters including Brian Wilson, Jerry Leiber (of the songwriting team Leiber and Stoller), and Burt Bacharach's lyricist Hal David.

Although the poll considered everything from traditional pop to folk and soul, The Beatles dominated. Paul McCartney's song "Here, There And
Everywhere" earned fourth spot, while his song "Yesterday" came in at 11th place.

Here's the top 10, according to Mojo's poll. The song titles are followed by the artist most often associated with the song.

1. 'In My Life' - The Beatles
2. '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction' - The Rolling Stones
3. 'Over The Rainbow' - Judy Garland
4. 'Here, There And Everywhere' - The Beatles
5. 'Tracks Of My Tears' - The Miracles
6. 'The Times They Are A Changing' - Bob Dylan
7. 'Strange Fruit' - Billie Holiday
8. 'I Can't Make You Love Me' - Bonnie Raitt
9. 'People Get Ready' - The Impressions
10. 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' - The Righteous Brothers
