(COMTEX) B: Copper Mountain Certifies Industry's Broadest Range of G.
B: Copper Mountain Certifies Industry's Broadest Range of G.lite CPE Partners
in Its CopperCompatible Interoperability Program

PALO ALTO, Calif., Jul 10, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

CopperCompatible Certification Extended to 16 Leading Manufacturers of
G.lite Modems, Routers, and Chip Sets

Copper Mountain Networks, Inc., (Nasdaq:CMTN) a leading provider of Digital
Subscriber Line (DSL) equipment solutions, today announced that it has certified
16 manufacturers of G.lite customer premise equipment (CPE) and components in
its CopperCompatible(TM) interoperability program. The CopperCompatible
certification ensures telecommunications carriers, Internet Service Providers
(ISPs), and DSL subscribers that third-party CPE products they buy are fully
interoperable with Copper Mountain's popular CopperEdge(R) family of DSL
concentrators. This new round of G.lite CPE certifications makes the CopperEdge
compatible with the industry's broadest base of customer premise devices, and
reinforces Copper Mountain's commitment to the U.S. and international DSL access
mass markets.

Copper Mountain formed the CopperCompatible interoperability program to help
facilitate faster and broader market acceptance of DSL as a mainstream bandwidth
delivery mechanism. To obtain certification, the 16 third-party manufacturers of
G.lite modems, PCI cards, routers, and chipsets passed a series of architectural
and functional interoperability tests with Copper Mountain's G.lite line card
and Turbo-charged G.lite line card, and integration tests with Copper Mountain's
CopperView(TM) network management software. Because G.lite is a standards-based
asymmetric DSL (ADSL) technology that delivers high-speed data and Plain Old
Telephone Service (POTS) voice services simultaneously on a single copper pair
telephone line, it is ideal for the consumer market.

"Our extensive efforts to certify 16 manufacturers and more than two dozen
G.lite CPE devices will give our service provider customers an edge in making
DSL more accessible to consumers," said John Nevius, CPE product marketing
manager for Copper Mountain. "No other DSL access platform can match this level
of G.lite CPE compatibility."

"Interoperability is key to consumer market expansion," said Ron Westfall,
senior analyst with the research firm Current Analysis. "Copper Mountain's
significant effort to certify interoperability with so many G.lite CPE devices
brings carriers and service providers the scale and range of choices that the
mass market requires."
