You must be behind the times. Q joined the S&P last week, I think, replacing USW.

Yes....Q joined the SP500 on Monday July 3 I believe.

USW was on the list...now that Q and USW have merged under symbol Q....Q is on the list.

I read that something like 48mm shares must be purchased by index funds (don't quote me on that figure) in order to comply with the index.
