Don't really know what to make of it based upon the info in your post. Not sure what he mean by "enterprise software shock" or "uncertainty over what software to buy". You also mentioned eco slowdown. So, that's a lot of negatives and if one is focused on this then certainly they should be bearish here. Today and tomorrow will be crucial I think.

Reverse of direction 360 degrees???? If you turn around 360 degrees that is not a reverse in direction, you would still be going in the same direction you were before you made the 360 degree reversion.

BMCS and CA both blamed poor current operating results on an upcoming release of a new model IBM mainframe. That always freezes that market for a while. At the same time, IBM is said to be reanalyzing the way they price mainframe software. Speculation is that the 3rd party SW companies, like the above, were charging far too much and IBM thought that might be actually affecting mainframe sales.

To keep a long story from getting much longer, I think this is a very isolated software pricing case. It should have no bearing on Windows 2000, or Unix, or Oracle, the faster growing SW platforms than mainframe. Higher than that, it should have no bearing on overall tech business.

Murphy recommended selling the stocks you mentioned if overall NAZ looks like it's in for a correction.

Murphy was famously wrong about Cisco in the past too. I believe he said they would miss and Cisco did the opposite.

btw, 360 is a circle, which Murphy has been spinning in.
