I agree with you. AMD can benefit strongly from a chipset
industry of multiple suppliers with whom they build a strong relationship and perhaps even some type of certification process relative to the capability of the given chipset insofar as how it works with the CPU.

Same story with MB manufacturers.

The INTC approach is not the only way to go, by any means,
and maybe is the way of the past, rather than the future.

AMD, focused in processors and flash can be a formidable competitor. Probably they need to stay so focused.
