Tim,

Like always with this kind of discussions, both opponents push each other to the extreme corner. The essence of Bill's statement, and I can follow him in that, is that organized religion is looking more for power than for spiritual help.

I also think that most of us have a need for spirituality. Some find it in church, others in nature or in art. The major problem is when it becomes organized in any form. Then you get group dynamics. The feeling of us against the others. It's a feeling which is common. It can be nationalism, racism, hooliganism,... But it can very well have a religious ground. It has in fact not much to do with spirituality, but everything with group dynamics. Being part of a preferred group can give a good and strong feeling, but can be very dangerous.

Bert

Tim, But you still can not say there is a time when the weight will not fall. I have never seen a god and I cannot say there is not one....but like the pounbd falling, it is a good operating assumtion.
As Bert says, it is all gang dynamics, whatever they call themselves.
It seems this follow the strong person is a relic from our simina past.
