Well written.
That said I doubt Russell will include your missive on SI's home page of Today's cool posts

PS the blurb at the end of the Raging Bull/SI link about ICG and the Princetown students was quite interesting. Big Brother is lurking.

Here is the untold story about the fall off in SI posts:

And the answer is...

1) because SI dolts refused to pay Craig Richards (aka the creater of BROWSEMASTER) a few dollars to improve their product 1000%

and...

2) because SI doofs eliminated the old version of SI on which BROWSEMASTER was still functional

best...

Pul-eeeeez!

The vast majority of SI members don't know (and dont care) of such things going on.

The only people who would care are people who purposely lie to deflate a stock - and SI is 96% longs (who are almost as annoying).

O/T - The End of the World As We Know It!

"Frederick's of Hollywood Files for Chapter 11"

Lingerie maker Frederick's of Hollywood Inc. filed for chapter 11 yesterday, according to the Wall Street Journal. The 54-year-old company said it has been unable to push up its earnings or expand operations largely because of the lingering cost of its 1997 leveraged buyout. The bankruptcy filing, along with new financing, will allow the company to firm up its cash flow and move ahead with a planned makeover designed to de-emphasize the more risqué side of its business. Last month, Wilshire Capital LLC, a Los Angeles investment firm, bought Frederick's. Previously, Chicago investment group Knightsbridge Capital Corp privatized Frederick's. The company said it would continue operating normally through the bankruptcy proceedings.

I tried several different ways to copy this article over here, but it's simply way too long to fit in my browser's buffer, and copying it piecemeal, it was way too long for SI's edit buffers.

So... This WSJ article attempts to pinpoint some of the blame for tulipomania. Very interesting to see just who profited, and by how much with some mention of just who lost when the petals fell off of most of the tulips...
