Subtract the acquisition cost, installation costs (include load coil/line conditioning work), customer service costs, network engineering and deployment costs (include constant upgrades) and you are left with "happy meal" margins. That assumes that you don't get squeezed by all the other DSL providers in their fierce battle with bankruptcy.

Care to comment on ATHM's position in this model? Is ATHM strategically positioned to stay out of the above scenario? Same? Global expansion make any difference? Backbone network make any difference? Will customers pay for a premium network? Is ATHM a premium network? Can they be?
