"While it is likely that Lucent Technologies will become a supplier to WinStar Communications, Inc. we do not view this as a negative for Advanced Fibre Communications. We spoke to industry sources and strongly believe that WinStar's relationship with AFC will continue to be very strong and that WinStar's purchases of AFC's UMC 1000 will continue to be "massive" and growing for the foreseeable future." Thread- Huh? Who cares what Lucent supplies to Winstar if it does not compete with UMC1000. Why even mention them? There are a lot of things that AFCI cannot supply to a LMDS SP. Kind of makes me wonder if Lucent is, in reality, going to be competing with the UMC1000? Anyone know what the competing product name is? -MikeM(From Florida)
