Actually the SDLI ceo probably got a feel from the DOJ from the ETEK investigation that they would not block a SDLI JDSU merger at this time.

IMHO it may take a little longer than what JDSU would like to as there may be some indirect pressure from LU, GLW and even CSCO about keeping this merger stopped.

You may be right, but 1) the JDSU/ETEK merger was extended b/c the DOJ demanded further evidence. Hopefully now that they've been down the road once, it won't take them as long the second time. 2) If LU, GLW and CSCO try to slow down the process, they'll only hurt themselves since JDSU and SDLI both supply their components. I say "both" but, heck, there are a pile of companies involved considering all the acquisitions they've made over the past 18 months. To throw up roadblocks would be to shoot their own feet.

I wouldn't be too quick to concede your shares to stock price limbo. Next week SDL reports on the 20th and if they're as good as some of us expect, I believe they'll lead both stocks higher.

Of course I could be wrong.
