Paul <"demand for the company's recent additions to the Celeron line appears to be quite strong.">

That's certainly good news for us all. Demand for EVERY chip produced seems to be quite strong. The motto from the boxmakers for at least the next few months will remain, "If you can build it, we will buy it.".

Twidle Dum and Twidle Dee?

In a conference call this morning, Merrill Lynch analysts Steve Fortuna, Steven Milunovich and Joe Osha offered second-quarter projections, with Dell Computer, EMC, Intel and Sun Microsystems leading the pack.

So does Merrill like Intel or don't they?

Jennifer Westhoven of the Financial News talks about recent Merrill Lynch views on the chip sector

Last week, Salomon Smith Barney came out with negative comments on the chip sector

However, Merrill is still bullish on the sector, saying that the quarter should be excellent, even through September

Also, they say spot chip prices are not a problem

Wall Street will also be more realistic on their growth projections for wireless handsets

Merrill's favorites are: LSI, ATML, CY, AMD, BRCM, PMCS, AMCC, and VTSS

Revenues should grow at 30% in the 26 stocks Merrill tracks

Without INTC, however, the remaining companies would be growing revenues at 43%

Merrill doesn't see much upside for either INTC or TXN
